Save your money and time by avoiding this awful restaurant. The decor is dark and dreary and the miniscule portions of food are tasteless and WAY overpriced. I had the sashimi Tuna and it was like mush..No flavor at all. The beef sashimi was equally flavorless. The spicy tuna roll (sushi) was the worst I ever had. I am serious..We were referred to this place by staff at The Cambridge Suites on Richmond St. They really set us up for a disappointing and pricey meal.
I am a Japanese customer(born and raised in Yokohama, temporarily working in Toronto) and I think Nami deserves 4.5-star from me. Their recipe is genuinely Japanese so I don't have to worry if my tempura sauce contains sugar or not, lol. They sell toro really cheap and their robata-bar grill is excellent. And when I say toro, it should be hon-maguro, not mebachi-maguro or kihada-maguro. Nami has Hon-maguro toro so that is the real toro we Japanese are talking about. Usually most Japanese people do not post their reviews but I thought 1-star is too wrong so I would like to balance the score in a proper way.
